Product suitability, storage requirements, handling constraints, and route options must be reviewed before delivery. Specialized storage or regulated-product handling should not be assumed to be included.
From supplier arrival to release-ready stock
The workflow begins with an inbound reference: supplier, purchase or delivery record, SKU list, expected quantities, and carton information. On receipt, the agreed identification and checking steps establish what can enter the available inventory pool and what needs clarification.
Stock with an unresolved identity, discrepancy, or handling instruction should have a defined hold status and decision owner. Confirmed stock can then move into the approved next step, such as supplier consolidation, brand packaging, or individual order fulfillment.
The objective is to make stock usable and its status understandable. Receiving a carton is not the same event as approving its contents for sale.
Define the warehouse work you actually need
Agree the receiving checks, identification method, storage basis, release instructions, and reporting scope before goods move. Extra tasks such as kitting, relabeling, or inspection should be specified separately rather than hidden inside a generic storage request.

Warehouse pricing depends on the products, inbound workload, storage profile, special handling, order mix, and onward service. Ask for a breakdown of receiving, storage, order handling, packaging, and other agreed work. International shipping requires its own product and route assumptions.

Yes, the proposed workflow can begin with your existing supplier relationships. The handoff still needs agreed receiving references and product instructions.
Does warehouse receiving include full product inspection?
Not automatically. Count, appearance, sampling, and unit-level checks are different scopes. Confirm which checks are practical and included before arrival.
Can all inventory be shipped directly to customers?
